Ms. Eva and Mr. Max

The video installation Ms. Eva and Mr. Max presents excerpts from our friendship during a period of upheaval at the studio house, between 2015 and 2019. During these years, we lived and worked in and around the shadow of Mengerzeile. The video also traces the making of the text Couples in the Studio and Evas work on the book A Walking Catastrophe Can Put Up with a Lot. At the time, Max was often traveling, bringing back images that became starting points for new works. Our first collaboration, The Tree (2016), began when Max gave Eva a photograph he had dreamt of; she responded to it with painting onto the photo. A new world began. In total, the series comprises four collaborations.
